Brief Summary of Story for talking points:
Hudson heard of the needs of China by listening to his father and mother talk of this far away place. Before he was ever born his parents prayed that if they would be blessed with a son, he would become a missionary to China. At the age of 5, Hudson was listening on yet another China conversation and said, "I'll go!"
Hudson loved to read, he loved to learn and at age 13 he learned to work at the pharmacy with his father, who was a druggist. At the age of 17 Hudson gave his life to Christ in his parent's barn after having spent an afternoon reading the Bible. Later on he asked Jesus to be "the ruler of his life." He tells that it seemed he heard the Lord say to him, "The go for Me to China."
God opened a door of opportunity for him to leave his home and work with a doctor, who was a surgeon. This would help prepare him in the field of medicine so he could help the poor, sick people of China while at the same time, share the gospel.
